Become a Trustee of the Cromwell Museum
We are looking for new Trustees between the ages of 18-30 to join the Board of the Cromwell Museum Trust. We believe that including younger Trustees on our board will help us to future proof decision making, bring new perspectives and ideas, and reflect the community we serve by broadening the age demographic of our existing board.
We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, ambitious and who can help us deliver our mission. It is an exciting time to join our Board as we are working towards several major projects over the coming years, principally the expansion of the Museum to additional premises. As we embark on this exciting period of change and development, we need a greater diversity of perspectives on our Board to help make better, more balanced and informed decisions. The Board is currently made up of 10 brilliant dedicated and experienced volunteer trustees from a number of sectors, including heritage and museums, business, and politics. However, we recognise that the age demographic of the Board is narrow and unrepresentative.
In this context, we are working with Kids in Museums to recruit two new Trustees between the ages of 18-30 to join the existing Board of the museum and work on the upcoming project and overall strategic direction of the museum.
If you are interested in history, museums, or are generally enthusiastic about your local community and want to take on a leadership position, we would very much welcome your application. You will receive training, support, and reimbursement of reasonable expenses, and gain a wide array of skills and experience, including knowledge and experience in the museums and heritage sector and transferable skills including networking, strategic planning, risk management, charity operations, fundraising and project planning. New trustees will be able to access training and networking opportunities with other young trustees through Kids in Museums.
While this current round of recruitment aims at recruiting new Trustees between the ages of 18-30 in order to add new perspectives and diversify the age demographic of our existing board, future rounds will be open to applicants of all ages again. So if you're interested in getting involved, please do stay in touch, or reach out to volunteer with us instead.
