There are many ways to support the Cromwell Museum and help to ensure that the story of Oliver Cromwell – his life, times and influence on modern democracy – is kept alive and brought to ever more people’s attention. As an independent charity we depend on people’s generosity with their time, money and expertise to support our work.



The Cromwell Museum Trust as an independent museum does not receive central government funding, and depends on donations from our visitors and interested parties to help fund our activities. Read more

Patron, Trustees and Staff


The Cromwell Museum Trust was formed in 2015 to take on the ownership and running of the Museum, after County Council funding was withdrawn. Find out more about the team who are responsible for the running of the Museum.  Read more

Volunteer with us


The Cromwell Museum depends on an enthusiastic and dedicated team of volunteers for a wide range of roles. These include staffing the Museum’s main desk (Front of House), helping with the Museum shop stock, welcoming school and other group visits, events and publicity. Read more

Supporters & Donors


We welcome and encourage regular support from sponsors and donors, as well as the opportunity to support individual projects or events. Read more

Friends of the Museum


The Friends of the Cromwell Museum help support the Museum by fundraising for acquisitions, exhibitions and Museum projects. This includes supporting the annual Cromwell Lecture programme each November.  Read more
